If you have Medi-Cal, you may already have dental benefits through Medi-Cal Dental, which many people still call Denti-Cal. At Happy Light Dental in Hawthorne, we accept Denti-Cal for children and adults, and new patients are always welcome.

What Denti-Cal covers at our office

Common services covered by Denti-Cal include:

  • Checkups and X-rays to find problems early
  • Cleanings, including deep cleanings (scaling) when your gums need them
  • Fillings for cavities
  • Root canals to save a painful tooth
  • Dentures, full or partial
  • Dental care for kids, from first visits to fillings

Some services have limits, such as how often they are covered, and some need approval from Medi-Cal Dental before treatment. Cosmetic treatments like teeth whitening are not covered.

No surprise bills. Before any treatment, we check your benefits and explain what is covered. If something isn’t covered, we tell you the cost first, and you decide what’s right for you.

Who can use Denti-Cal

Most children and adults with Medi-Cal have dental benefits through Medi-Cal Dental. There is no separate dental card. You use your Medi-Cal Benefits Identification Card (BIC).

How to make an appointment

We’re at 3929 W Rosecrans Ave, Hawthorne, CA 90250. Hours: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 8 AM–5 PM; Friday 8 AM–3 PM; Saturday 8 AM–2 PM every other week; closed Wednesday and Sunday.

What should I bring to my first visit?

Please bring your Medi-Cal Benefits Identification Card (BIC), a photo ID, and a list of any medicines you take.

Will I have to pay anything?

Most covered services have no out-of-pocket cost. If something isn’t covered, or if your Medi-Cal has a share of cost, we tell you before treatment so there are no surprise bills.
